Bitkom calls for a new Federal Center for Digital Education

The digital association Bitkom has published a position paper emphasizing the need for a new federal center for digital education. According to a recent survey by the European Union, only about 53 percent of people in Germany possess basic digital skills. This concerning figure highlights the urgency of reforming and strengthening digital education in the country.

The coalition agreement of the federal government already included a competence offensive, which is now to be specified. Bitkom demands that the federal government seriously implements this offensive to close the digital divide in society.
